There are six (6) main categories of Duty Free Concession

General and Religious Organisation Programme

Applicants must submit a letter addressed to the Director General, Ministry of Finance indicating the nature of their business and setting out their request for Duty Free Concession. The following list of information is also required, attached to an application:

  • A copy of the invoice/quotation for the imported item MUST be submitted along with the letter
  • Copies of Certificate of Registration/Incorporation and good standing from Commerce & Intellectual Property Office (CIPO)
  • Certificate of good standing from National Insurance Services (NIS)
  • Certificate of good standing from Inland Revenue Department

 Farmers Incentive (Motor Vehicle)

Applicants are asked to visit the Ministry of Agriculture to complete an Application Form and any further information about this category of concession. However applicants should note that an

  • Applicant MUST be a registered farmer
  • Applicant MUST be a commercial farmer, farming for three (3) or more years on three (3) or more acres of land in which they possess ownership of deed or lease agreement to land

 Returning Nationals

Applicants are asked to visit the Customs & Excise Department for further details

  • Applicants MUST be able to demonstrate that they resided abroad for at least ten (10) years (Required to show proof)
  • Applicants MUST be able to demonstrate that they intend to make a permanent home in St. Vincent and the Grenadines
  • You MUST apply one year of returning or moving to St. Vincent and the Grenadines
  • One motor vehicle is allowed under the concession for each household, it MUST be owned and registered by you and in your name
  • The items must be for your own use and kept by you. No item can be sold, bartered, disposed or traded in any way to any other person for a period of four (4) years. Permission must be granted by the Comptroller of Customs before any goods (including vehicles) may be disposed of within the four (4) year period and ALL normal taxes be paid

Tour Bus Operators Incentives Programme

Applicants are asked to visit the Ministry of Toursim, etc. for any further information about this category of concession. However, applicants should note:

  • All applicant MUST be registered with the St. Vincent Tourism Authority and committed to adhere to the standards of the Tourism Authority
  • All applicant MUST provide a certificate of good standing from National Insurance Services (NIS)
  • Motor vehicle is required to carry 26 or more passengers

Vehicles and Heavy Equipment for Construction

Applicants must submit a letter addressed to the Director General, Ministry of Finance indicating the nature of their business and setting out their request for Duty Free Concession. The following list of information is also required, attached to an application:

  • A copy of the proforma invoice for the imported item MUST be submitted along with the letter
  • Copies of Certificate of Registration/Incorporation and good standing from Commerce & Intellectual Property Office (CIPO)
  • Certificate of good standing from National Insurance Services (NIS)
  • Certificate of good standing from Inland Revenue Department 

School Bus Operators Incentive Programme
