A training workshop on Labour Market Information and its Use in Policy Planning will take place at the eGovernment Centre in the Clico Building from Monday 7th - Thursday 10th November.

The workshop is being organized by the CARICOM Secretariat under the 10th EDF Project, which deals with the Establishment of a Labour Market System for the Proper Management of the Regime for the Free Movement of Skills within the CSME.

It will bring together stakeholders from various Government Ministries and Departments and Statutory bodies that are involved in the production, analysis and dissemination of labour market data.

The main purpose of the training is to provide the stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and understanding of labour market information and its use in policy and planning; and would also examine among other things, key labour market and sectoral policy issues, sources of labour market information and key indicators of the labour market, as well as training on the analysis of vacancy survey.

The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Labour market Information System (SVG-LMIS) was established in 2010 and is currently administered by the Department of Labour.
